Established in May 2021, Darjeeling Bodhisattva Foundation is a not- for- profit organization that is committed towards offering selfless service to the human society with its core, deeply rooted in the philosophy of basic goodness, altruism, love, compassion and genuine care for the sentient beings. The appreciation of the reality of impermanence that human existence is destined to undergo provides a common platform for experiencing the pain of the fellow being as our own. The understanding of this phenomenon engulfs the organization as the moral obligation of reaching out to those in need especially the voiceless and the destitute as a family member irrespective of the diversities in forms that we may share in the global village, all subject to death as the ultimate reality.
The term Bodhisattva refers to a being who has generated the compassionate mind (Bodhichitta) to attain the awakened state for the benefit of all sentient beings. It is a path open to everyone where serving the others come first than fulfilling ones needs.
